When Vikrant Massey appeared opposite Priyanka Chopra, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah in Dil Dhadakne Do, we were gushing over his good looks. However, the actor's journey in showbiz began long ago. He first starred in the TV serial, Kahan Hoon Main in 2004. And then went on to do many more televsion shows like Dhoom Machao Dhoom, Dharam Veer etc. But it was in the popular serial, Balika Vadhu that he caught the audience eye. He made his Bollywood debut with the critically- acclaimed Lootera. But he got his first lead role in Konkona Sen Sharma's directorial venture,  A Death In The Gunj. Movies like  Half Girlfriend, Lipstick Under My Burkha got him more attention.   However, 2020 was his annus mirabilis.   Chhapaak got his  tremendous applause.  He then rocked the OTT circuit with Cargo, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare, Ginny Weds Sunny, Ramprasad Ki Tehrvi and Haseen Dillruba.

Speaking to Jitesh Pillaai the  Editor of Filmfare in the WhatsApp presents Just Between Us by Filmfare, a chat show where actors reveal their  innermost thoughts, Vikrant Massey  opens up about the choices that make him who he is. He says he picks his scripts carefully and is he's trying to balance out his movie choices.  Says he, "I want to balance it out with the kind of stuff that people want to see now. I would want to do a couple of films that I want to do and do that one film that is the need of the hour for me because I'm still very, very new. There are a lot of things that go behind choosing a film."

He gives a shoutout to his talent agency and he talks about having a WhatsApp group where he shares his thoughts about his work with the agency. Of course, he reaches out to his family too on Whatsppp. Vikrant laughs out loud when told that he 's an "alternative sex symbol".  He grins, "Honestly, this is actually the first time I'm hearing this. Okay, people say that I look decent at times but I didn't think the term 'alternative sex symbol' would be attached to me. I mean, it's great, you can see I'm blushing."
He sure goes red in the face.

He reveals he had a strong support system in his teachers, who supported his dream of wanting to become an actor. In fact, they convinced his parents to back him full on.  He says, his
support system today consists of people who are honest with him and don't treat him like a star.  They include his family and managers.  Says he, "They are my reality check. They give me feedback on my films.  Some even say that my film is shit if they dont like it. I would love to retain this in my life and not have yes men around me."

A good decison indeed.
